Happiness isn’t the destination, it’s the journey.

On 2Moons we’ve seen this ongoing discussion about using two game instances (duel clients) of the game to power level a secondary character. We consider this a against the rules because you are not really playing the second character. Instead, letting it tag along an benefit from the high level character since it merely follows along enjoying the EXP that it shared with it through the party system. We are of the mind that there should be one person behind every character in-game.
One of the things that I don’t understand about some gamers is the need to be number one at any cost. To be clear, I do understand the need to be number one, I just don’t understand why people make that the "be-all and end-all".
I have the most fun when I’m playing. I like the social interaction with others, I like the exploration of new areas and I like succeeding on my own merits. What level my character is, is so far down on the "am I having fun" scale that I’m often surprised when I reach a new level. I was too busy enjoying the game to notice I was close to the next level.
I once had a debate with someone over the issue of illegally buying in-game currency. Their argument was that they didn’t have time to get it themselves with real life getting in the way. No time?! What was the hurry? Could they not have played at the pace that their life allowed? What was this need that made them feel like they needed to be in such a hurry? When you finally reach that pinnacle, when there is finally nothing left for you to do, when your finally at the level cap… you are not having fun any more.
All I’m saying is, enjoy the journey, forget about the destination.

Regarding playing pace – some people want to keep up with their friends because they like playing the game with them and not new people all the time.
When I started guilds would come and go because of how fast people leveled as you want active people doing the same stuff you are for a better experience.
Me – I moved around guilds here and there and made new friends, since my real life friends don’t play this game but once I got to playing with a certain crowd it was nice to stick with them for awhile.
The Grind – to painful after 6 characters or even 3 or 4. You should play enough to get use to the character of course – I don’t have an issue of pleveling to 60 because to me, that’s the point most character come into their own and that doesn’t take long.
Now with even more focus on grinding at higher levels (120+) people are going to get even more bored quicker as DF are not as good. Not sure if this ploy was to get more ppl to party, to get people to buy more talismans, or just to mix it up.
I for one will not buy talismans anymore (first because I lost two with ossuaries during the patch – no refund and absolutely no response to fix this)and also because I use to save maps, get a tali, and do all the DF’s in a single day to make it worth buying. With only the Possibility of getting into 3 in a 24 hour period, not worth my money.
