The Historian

Yes this weekend I return the bingo hall to once again entertain the players. I had asked for the afternoon shift but due to some conflicting events I had to trade for a night shift.

The afternoon is much better since the players pay a quarter for each bingo sheet they play. As one of the runners I simply spend the afternoon scooping up quarters and occasionally calling out winning numbers.

In the evening the bingo games run longer and are prepaid, so you tend to be standing or sitting waiting for anything to happen. There are a few characters, but for the most part it is a drag.

The worst part of either shift is the smoking. I’m not sure why they let them smoke. It can be tolerated in the afternoon, but the evening are awful and I leave feeling like I’m going to have an asthma attack.
